Inequalities

Type an inequality and Desmos shades every point that makes it true. Where two shadings overlap is the solution region of the system.

Example: y<2x+1y < 2x + 1 and y≥−x+4y \ge -x + 4. The darker overlapping area is where both hold.

  • A dashed boundary line means the line itself is not included (<< or >>). A solid line means it is (≤\le or ≥\ge).
  • To test an answer choice like (3,2)(3, 2), add the point (3,2) and see whether it lands in the overlap.

On the test: for "which point is a solution to the system?", graph the system and plot each answer choice.
